Project Details

Total is another one of the International oil giant operating in Uganda owns a number of bulk fuel storage tanks under a commercial agreement with the Uganda Government to provide access to these fuel supplies under certain conditions, principally to help regulate and restrain fuel shortages in the country. Like Shell it was incumbent upon them to make additional volume requirement, by contracting Civicon to construct new fuel storage units in their Jinja fuel storage plant.
Oloya Julius now has proficient ability to follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools, and equipment and to follow orders and complete work assignments with a minimum of supervision. Taking a more supervisory role as Technician/Fitter with Civicon, the team successfully assembled, fabricated, and installed three horizontal fuel storage tanks in the period ending 2009 till early 2009. Fuel tanks installed consists of one (1) 2,000,000 litres storage tanks for Ago (Diesel), one (1) 1,000,000 litres storage tank PMs (Petrol) and one (1) 750,000 litres storage tank BIK (Kerosene/Paraffin).
Work in this site also involved putting in place safety procedures, correct disposal of hazardous waste, maintenance of cleanliness, orderly work area and performed all assignments in a safe manner. This meant that construction of one (1) 750,000 litres water storage tank and one (1) 200,000 litres sludge tank for impurities.
